Release Excitement Continues

Look what arrived yesterday!

It was a long, long, long weekend waiting. The original delivery date I was given was Friday September 23. Much to my disappointment when I checked on-line early Friday morning my box had not left the USA yet. Friday night, well actually early Saturday morning it was in Quebec. In the early hours it left there and was headed east. All weekend, every couple of hours, I checked the tracking number. No change. But the estimated delivery date was changed to Monday.

Yesterday morning, I got up bright and early. I couldn’t sleep. I checked the tracking number again. It had arrived in Nova Scotia on Saturday and the system had just updated. Estimated delivery was between 9am and 7pm Monday.

Just like a child waiting for Santa, every small sound I heard outside I ran to the front windows looking for the Big Brown Truck, delivery was through UPS. I was hoping to be at the 9am end of the delivery schedule because I had a meeting at 12:30 with other authors and I REALLY wanted to have a copy to take. I was really disappointed when the clock said 11:50 and no delivery.

Then the dog barked.

I flew out of my office and Yeah! The Big Brown Truck was in my driveway! 20 copies of my book all snug in a box were on that truck.

In the picture below you will see one copy with pretty gold labels. The local writing group I belong to went together and ordered a large quantity of Autographed by the Author and Local Author stickers to share. I wasn’t sure I’d ever see the day that I would have a print copy but I’m glad I invested with them – I think they look really sharp on my dark cover.
